Chronic stress
is a whole-body experience
so why don't we
include our bodies
in the conversation?
A Whole-Body Approach to Healing Stress
Stress is physical, emotional, and mental. Yet we treat it mostly with mental 'talk' therapy. We try to control stress through thinking, and forget to include our body in the conversation. A whole-body approach that connects the mental and the physical, is the only way to manage chronic stress effectively. What would it feel like, to be less controlled by, and 'in' your head, and more curious about what your body has to say?

Chronic Stress is a Whole-Body Experience
And it deserves more than a quick fix.
Mind
Thinking Doesn't Always Help
A big part of stress is fueled by the mind. We worry about things that haven’t happened yet or replay past situations, creating stress through thought alone.
When we try to think our way out of stress, it often backfires. Our problem-solving mind - so useful when we’re calm - can increase our stress response when we’re already overwhelmed.
Overthinking fuels the fire. The goal is not to shut off your mind—but to change your relationship with it, through becoming aware of your body.
Body
How to Feel better
How well do you actually feel your body? Can you sense its signals, do you trust them, can you respond with care? In Western culture, we often prize rationality over embodiment. Many of us learn to override our bodies' signals in service of achievement.
But your nervous system, including the brain, runs through your whole body. There is no such thing as seperating the two.
Sustainable recovery requires to feel the body and to move with your body, rather than against it.
Stress is like a spectrum
On one end are the balanced, peaceful people (no one really 😉). On the other, those who are completely stuck—either in a wirlwind of anxiety and tension, or completely numb, unable to think, feel, or act (roughly 7% of people). Most of us live somewhere in between. And some of us are losing balance (around 28%). The question is: where are you on that spectrum?
Feeling 'Off', but You Can't Name It?
You don't need to break down to feel better
Maybe lately, you've noticed it's harder to switch off. You feel on edge, tired, or you have a vague sense that something isn’t quite right. Something feels off.
Your body often sends you signals that things aren’t going well. But we’re trained to override those signals in order to “do what needs to be done.” We use our heads to push our bodies toward the next goal. In the short term, that can be a useful strategy. But long term, ignoring your body leads to breakdown.
Have you noticed your body saying, “I’ve had enough”? Do you sense that if you are really honest with yourself, you don't want to do this anymore? You can reclaim balance. There’s a way forward: by learning to listen to your body. Take the Whole Body Stress Test below, and find out what you can do to reclaim balance.

Feeling Stuck in Overdrive or Shutdown?
You are not alone, and you can get better
Becoming so stressed that your body shuts down can happen in two ways: through one major traumatic event—or through the slow, ongoing build-up of micro-stressors. That second path is burnout.
EU data suggests that, depending on the country, between 3% and 13% of the workforce meets the criteria for clinical burnout. If you feel like your are completely stuck in overdrive or like your body has pulled the plug, you're not alone. Millions of people are feeling exactly like you.
If you're wondering what burnout really is, how to know if you're burned out, or what the first steps to recovery look like—start here.
